Webinar series on “Young Women’s Health Problems” held at UAP

A two-daylong webinar series was jointly organized by the Department of Pharmacy, UAP, and Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Limited under the company's 'Young Women's Care' program on the 17th and 18th of August, 2021. The program was sponsored by Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Limited and powered by Mensil N and was live-streamed on Facebook from the page of Healthtube BD. The program was moderated by Dr. Naima Sharmin Alom.

The topic of discussion of the webinar was “Menstrual Problems and Urinary Tract Infection of Adolescent and Solutions”. Prof. Dr. Shaikh Zinnat Ara Nasreen, Department Head, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Z.H Sikder Women’s Medical College, Dhaka and Secretory General of Bangladesh Menopausal Society was present as the guest speaker of the webinar. She addressed on issues regarding urinary tract infection, antibiotic resistance, menstrual hygiene and other associated medical conditions.

Finally, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Head of the Department of Pharmacy thanked the sponsor, the guest speaker and the moderator of the program for such an interesting and informative program and in his speech he also addressed the rationale use of antibiotics, maintenance of female hygiene and urged the pharmaceutical companies to reduce the price of female hygiene products considering the socioeconomic condition of Bangladesh. He concluded the program by thanking Mr. Riduanul Islam Bhuiyan, Senior Product Executive, Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Limited, Prof. Dr. Swarnali Islam Khandaker, Ms. Nishat Jahan, Assistant Professor and Ms. Ramisa Anjum, Lecturer, for organizing this webinar, and all the faculty members and students for their enthusiastic participation.
