UAP Strengthens International Collaboration Through Benchmarking Visit to Indonesia
A delegation from the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), led by Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor, UAP, visited Indonesia from 13-19 June 2026 to strengthen international academic and research collaboration.
The delegation also included Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean, School of Pharmacy, UAP, and Dr. Shihab Uddin Ahmad, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Master of Pharmacy in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy, UAP.
During the visit, the delegation met with representatives of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), Universitas Setia Budi (USB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), and Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). At UMS, the delegation was received by Dr. Hepy Adityarini, Head of Sub-directorate for Mobility and Academic Partnership, Directorate of Reputation, Partnerships and International Affairs (DRPI), UMS, while discussions were jointly led by Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan and Prof. Dr. Ir. Supriyono, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Institutional Reputation, Impact, Partnership and Internationalization, UMS. An institutional MoU was signed, followed by a MoA between the School of Pharmacy, UAP, and the Faculty of Pharmacy, UMS, represented by Prof. Dr. apt. Peni Indrayudha, Vice Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, UMS.
At Universitas Setia Budi (USB), discussions were led by Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan and Prof. Dr. Dra. Peni Pujiastuti, Vice Rector, USB, resulting in the signing of an MoU. The delegation also visited the Faculty of Pharmacy under Prof. Dr. apt Iswandi, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, where Dr. Shihab Uddin Ahmad delivered a guest lecture titled "Writing a Systematic Review: Step-by-Step Guideline."
At Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), the delegation met Prof. Dr. Desi Suci Handayani, Dean, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNS, and signed an institutional MoU while agreeing to finalize a future MoA.
The final visit was to Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), where discussions were held with Prof. Dr. apt. Yandi Syukri, Head, Department of Pharmacy, UII. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar emphasized sustainable collaboration, and both institutions agreed to initiate joint academic activities before formalizing agreements.
The visit resulted in three institutional MoUs, one MoA, and several new opportunities for joint research, academic exchange, publications, and international engagement, further advancing UAP's global partnerships.
