Seminar and Quiz Competition on the Right to Information Act, 2009, Organized by UAP-YES Group

A Seminar and Quiz Competition on the Right to Information Act 2009 was held on 05 March 2026 at the UAP Auditorium, University of Asia Pacific. The program was organized by the UAP-YES Group under the Directorate of Student Welfare (DSW). The seminar was conducted by Yasmin Ara, Assistant Coordinator, Civic Engagement, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), under the supervision of Ms. Nayeema Sultana, Lecturer, Department of CSE, and Adviser, YES Group, University of Asia Pacific. More than 200 students participated in the two-hour event.

The program aimed to increase awareness about the Right to Information Act 2009 and its role in promoting transparency and accountability in Bangladesh. The event began with a seminar in which the speaker discussed the objectives and importance of the law and explained how citizens can benefit from access to information.

After the seminar, a quiz competition was held to evaluate participants’ understanding of the topic and to encourage interactive learning. The program helped students gain a clearer idea about the Right to Information Act and its importance in ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible citizenship. The event concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Mohammad Rakiv, the Acting Director of DSW.
