Freshers’ Fiesta – “Spring 2021”

The Department of English, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized an online reception program titled “Freshers’ Fiesta” for the newcomers of the “Spring – 2021” semester. The program was held on the video platform of Zoom on July 17, 2021 (Saturday). The one and half hour event started at 4.30 p.m. on Zoom where the honorable faculty members and the students from the English Department joined.

The reception started with the inaugural address by Dr. Mehnaz Tazeen Choudhury, Head of the English Department, University of Asia Pacific. She appreciated the initiative wholeheartedly and advised the newcomers to make the best use of technology during this pandemic.

The program was also addressed by Niger Afroz Islam, Assistant Professor as well as Convener of the “Fresher’s Fiesta – Spring 2021.” Later on, a student representative from the outgoing batch welcomed the freshmen.After the formal speeches, various recorded performances were played in the segment of the “Cultural Function” on Zoom and they were enjoyed and appreciated by both the faculty members and the audience.The session was wrapped up with a vote of thanks from the Head of the Department.
