Arifa Akther has been working as a lecturer at UAP in the Department of Civil Engineering since August 2021. Before joining at UAP, she worked as a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Daffodil International University (DIU) for 2.5 years.
She has completed her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in October 2018 with a major in Structural Engineering. She is currently pursuing her M.Sc. in Structural Engineering, BUET. She has completed her theory courses and currently working on her thesis.
Undergraduate Thesis
Her undergraduate thesis topic was “Comparative Analysis of BNBC
(Bangladesh National Building Code) 1993 and BNBC 2017 Provisions
for the Design of RCC and Steel Buildings on High wind and Low
Seismic Zone of Bangladesh” under the supervision of Prof. Dr.
Khan Mahmud Amanat.
Research Interest
Her
research interest includes Lateral load analysis, Vibration due to
human activity, Experimental behavior & analytical modeling of
connections & joints for reinforced concrete, Data science,
Sustainable development, Life cycle assessment, Air quality
modeling.
