University of Asia Pacific observes Independence Day 2022


The Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized an online event to celebrate ‘Independence Day 2022’ on 26 March 2022.

Mr. Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, Bir Bikram, Former Foreign Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh was the keynote speaker. He vividly shared the reminiscences of his direct engagements in the liberation war of Bangladesh. In the beginning, UAP Cultural Club, in association with UAP Film Club performed a patriotic song as a tribute to all the liberation war martyrs and freedom fighters of Bangladesh.

Air Cdre Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury (Retd.), Treasurer and Director, DSW, UAP gave a brief introduction of Mr. Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, and welcomed the audience. Mr. Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury’s speech generated much enthusiasm among the audience, which included members of the Board of Trustees (BOT), faculty members, staff and students who attended the events via the verified Facebook Page of UAP.

The event was presided by the Vice Chancellor, UAP, Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan. In his speech, Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan thanked the keynote speaker for his time and effort to share the valuable memories of the liberation war. He paid homage to Mr. Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury for the patriotism and courage he displayed during the Liberation War. Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan also thanked DSW for organizing the event.

Mr. Qayum Reza Chowdhury, Member, BOT handed over the virtual crest to the keynote speaker which soon will be delivered with sincere gratitude. Mr. Qayum Reza Chowdhury praised Mr. Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury’s speech and his contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
