Department of Law and Human Rights, UAP organizes Court visit to Bandarban & Cox’s Bazar (Spring-2023)


The Department of Law and Human Rights (L&HR) of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized Court visit to the District and Sessions Judge Courts, Bandarban and Cox’s Bazar (Spring-2023) from 23th to 27th September 2023.



The main purpose of Bandarban Court visit was to gather knowledge about the legal system of tribal communities of Chittagong Hill Tracts including Bandarban while students also learned about the issues of alternative dispute resolution, amended provisions of mediation in civil suits, reasons of long duration of civil suits, independence of judiciary, rule of law etc. Apart from that, visiting the District and Session Judge Court of Cox’s Bazar enriched their knowledge regarding the present crisis of the Cox’s Bazar magistrate and session courts Career in judiciary and challenges thereon; live District Judge Court Proceedings and legal aid.



One faculty member from the department; Md. Saleh Akram, Assistant Professor and Ms. Synthia Gracia Costa, Assistant Account Officer, UAP, accompanied students to visit the courts.


The department arranges court visits in each semester as a part of the academic activities to introduce students’ practical knowledge about the legal procedure of courts along with their theoretical knowledge.
