UAP participated in the 3rd ‘Bangabandhu Inter-University Sports Championship 2022’

University of Asia Pacific has successfully participated in the 3rd ‘Bangabandhu Inter-University Sports Championship 2022’ organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.


The Directorate of Students Welfare (DSW) made all necessary arrangements for the training of UAP players under the supervision of the advisors of respective sports clubs to take part in the championship of cricket (male), football (male), table tennis (male & female), badminton (male & female), chess (male & female) and cycling (male).


The events of this mega sports ceremony commenced with the torch flaming and announcement of fixture programme on 22nd August 2022 at Tungipara Upazilla Complex following a visit to the mausoleum of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Mr. Jahid Ahsan Russel, honourable State Minister for Youth and Sports, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh attended the program as the Chief Guest. The Director of DSW Mr. Takad Ahmed Chowdhury joined the event along with representatives of 125 public and private universities of Bangladesh.

Mohiuddin Rifat from the Department of English achieved 7th position in cycling, while Shohana Islam Sraboni from the Department of Law and Human Rights achieved 9th and Ashaduzzaman Shawon from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering achieved 13th position in female and male categories respectively.
