Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, Dean, School of Environmental Sciences and Design, UAP selected to receive the AIA Presidential Medal and Honorary Membership

Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, Dean, School of Environmental Sciences and Design, UAP, has been selected by the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Board of Directors to receive the Presidential Medal and Honorary Membership in the AIA.

Professor Sayeed has been nominated for this prestigious award for his accomplishments within ARCASIA (Architects Regional Council of Asia) and his efforts to enhance the understanding and interaction of architects worldwide.

Professor Sayeed shall receive the AIA Presidential Medal and Honorary Membership in a special ceremony during the Convocation Reception on June 25, 2022 in Chicago.

Prof. Sayeed is actively involved in the Heritage protection and preservation movement in Bangladesh, and is currently engaged in several restoration projects. He is the author of four books related to Historical monuments and Conservation. Recently he received the “Award of Merit” of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
