DSW, UAP Hosts Vibrant Club Fair Fall 2024 to Enrich Student Life

The Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), University of Asia Pacific (UAP) successfully organized the Club Fair, Fall 2024, at the UAP Plaza on Tuesday (13 February 2025). The day-long event aimed to introduce newly admitted students to the diverse co-curricular opportunities available on campus and encourage them to engage in club activities to enhance their university experience.

Fifteen central clubs and the Socio Counseling Center showcased their achievements and activities, attracting a large number of students and guests. The fair was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of UAP, who emphasized the importance of balancing academic pursuits with co-curricular involvement.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Ahsan highlighted the role of the DSW in preparing students for the job market by helping them develop essential skills. He commended the DSW for organizing such a dynamic and engaging event, which serves as a platform for students to explore their interests and talents.

Dr. A. S. M. Mohsin, Director of DSW, welcomed the guests and participants, expressing his enthusiasm for the fair and its potential to enrich student life. The event also saw the presence of Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees (BOT), who joined during the prize-giving ceremony. She praised the organizers for their efforts and reiterated her commitment to supporting co-curricular activities that benefit students.

As part of the fair, certificates were awarded to dedicated volunteers for their outstanding contributions to organizing various university activities. The event concluded with the announcement of the best-performing stalls, which included the UAP Yes Group, Indoor Sports Club, and History and Heritage Club. These stalls were recognized based on criteria such as stall decoration, visitor engagement, and overall presentation.

Among others, Professor Dr. Sheikh Anwar Hossain, Treasurer; Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuyan, Advisor to the VC & Dean, School of Medicine; and Mr. Mohammad Rakiv, Assistant Professor, Advisors of the Clubs were also present at the event.

The Club Fair, Fall 2024, not only provided a platform for students to connect with clubs but also showcased UAP’s commitment to fostering a well-rounded educational environment. The event was widely appreciated by students, faculty, and guests alike, marking another successful initiative by the Directorate of Students’ Welfare.
