A highly engaging workshop on "The Psychology Behind Public Speaking" was held on 6th May 2025 at the Department of Pharmacy, conducted by Mr. Faysal Ahmed Rafi, Chief Psychologist of Mindwizz. The event drew active participation from both students and faculty members, creating an interactive and enriching atmosphere.
Throughout the session, Mr. Rafi delved deep into the psychological aspects that influence public speaking, highlighting common fears, anxiety triggers, and internal barriers that often hinder effective communication. He also shared practical strategies to overcome these challenges, emphasizing confidence-building techniques, structured thought processes, and audience engagement methods. There was also an interactive segment dedicated to practicing breathing exercises and meditation techniques, aimed at reducing stage anxiety and fostering calmness before speaking. These exercises were well-received and appreciated by participants for their immediate effectiveness. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Head, Department of Pharmacy, who expressed appreciation for the valuable insights shared. As a token of gratitude, a crest was presented to Mr. Faysal Ahmed Rafi on behalf of the department.
The program was organized by the Pharmacy Debating and Public Speaking Club (Tarkik). Ms. Salsabil Islam, Lecturer and Advisor of the club acknowledged the contributions of all participants and the members of the club, expressing gratitude for the insightful discussions that made the event a resounding success.
