Entrepreneurship and Career Development Club of the University of Asia Pacific successfully organized the seminar on “Meet the CEO 4.0” on November 4, 2024, at the UAP auditorium.
ECDC aims to advocate the students with a plethora of strategies that they need to achieve heights in their professional lives. This club works as a professional guide for the students by motivating them to unleash their innate potential. Through the knowledge given by this club, the students can fly higher and shine brighter in their respective fields of careers.
To develop the entrepreneurial and professional prospects of young minds, ECDC organized yet another blockbuster event “Meet the CEO’ for the fourth time on November 4, 2024, where the students were given proper professional knowledge to excel in their careers. This time the distinguished keynote speaker of the event was Mohammad Zaved Akhtar, Chairman and Managing Director who has also served as the CEO of Unilever Bangladesh Limited.
The welcome speech of the program was given by Professor Dr. M. A. Baqui Khalily, Dean, School of Business, Acting Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Science & School of Law. He reflected on the importance of arranging such seminars which will be beneficial for the students to ace in their professional lives.
The chief guest of the event was Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific. He stated the impact of the event and encouraged the students to think out of the box to make an influential professional life.
Finally, the keynote speaker of the event, a visionary leader who always encouraged young people to believe in themselves, Mohammad Zaved Akhtar, Chairman and Managing Director and former CEO of Unilever Bangladesh Limited, gave his valuable speech. He discussed the drawbacks and challenges he faced in his career and how he was able to overcome those hurdles. He also mentioned the mantra through which one can have a successful professional life. The Chairman and Managing Director also stated how Unilever Bangladesh Limited has developed throughout the years and how they are helping innumerable through their campaigns. Having strong passion and dedication for his work keeps him going in his job, he mentioned. It was also discussed by him how consistent practice and hard work can be a game changer for one’s career. The students got the opportunity to directly interact with him through the Q&A session in the seminar.
Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson, Board of Trustees of UAP, presented her valuable remarks on how this session will mold the entrepreneurial and professional skill sets of the students.
Mohammad Rakiv, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration and the club adviser of ECDC, gave his remarks on the event and mentioned the significance of such a power-packed session.
All the guests of the event including the VC and Chairperson of UAP handed over the token of appreciation to Mohammad Zaved Akhtar. The alumni and former executives of ECDC were also awarded crests for their tireless efforts and contributions to the club.
The event concluded with a photo session where the keynote speaker and the guests were joined by the volunteers and executive members of the event. The event has been a successful one as it will help the students to develop their professional qualities and skill sets in the future.
