The Club of Finance & Accounting (CFA) at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized an industrial visit to BURO Bangladesh’s Training Center in Cumilla to provide students with practical exposure to microfinance operations. The day-long program was held on April 28, 2025, with the participation of 37 students from the Department of Business Administration, accompanied by three faculty members: Mr. Imroz Mahmud, Mr. Mohammad Rakiv, and Ms. Rubaba Nazneen Noor.
The event began with an orientation session conducted by BURO officials, offering an overview of the organization's structure, objectives, and field-level activities. Following the session, the students were divided into teams and assigned to different local branches, where they observed day-to-day microfinance operations and interacted with field officers and clients.
This hands-on experience allowed the students to connect academic concepts with real-world practices, particularly in the areas of financial inclusion and grassroots-level lending mechanisms. As a token of appreciation, crests were handed over to BURO Bangladesh officials by UAP faculty members, acknowledging their hospitality and cooperation in facilitating the visit.
UAP faculty and students expressed their heartfelt thanks for the warm reception and generous support extended by BURO throughout the visit. The organizers believe that such programs play a vital role in bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and professional practice.
