The Department of Business Administration (DBA) of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) successfully organized a research seminar titled “Crafting Academic Research: Enhancing Research Quality, Methodological Rigour, and Publication Impact” on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the UAP Auditorium, Dhaka. The seminar was held under an ongoing research collaboration between UAP and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, reflecting UAP’s strong commitment to fostering international academic partnerships and advancing research excellence.
The seminar was conducted by Professor Jamaliah Said and Dr. Muhammad Nazmul Hoque from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. The distinguished speakers shared in-depth insights on contemporary academic research practices, emphasizing research design, methodological rigor, data analysis, and strategies to enhance publication impact in reputable journals.
The program formally commenced with an opening speech by Professor Dr. M. A. Baqui Khalily, Dean, School of Business, who highlighted the importance of collaborative research initiatives in strengthening institutional research culture and enhancing global academic engagement. He emphasised UAP’s ongoing support for research-driven academic activities that advance knowledge creation and scholarly impact.
Faculty members from various departments actively participated in the seminar session, engaging in meaningful discussions on improving research quality and navigating challenges in academic publishing. Following the seminar, Mr Sarwar Razzak Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Business Administration, delivered concluding remarks, expressing appreciation to the speakers and reaffirming the department’s dedication to promoting research excellence among faculty members.
An interactive session was later held at the BOT Conference Room, where participants had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, discuss research ideas, and seek guidance on methodological and publication-related issues. The program concluded with a lunch session, fostering further academic networking and collaboration.
The entire event was coordinated by Dr. Nazreen Tabassum Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly to the successful organization and smooth execution of the seminar.
