Seminar on "Nanoscale Solutions for Modulating Drug Safety & Efficacy" and "From Printer to Patient: The Rise of 3D & 4D Printing in Pharmacy and Precision Medicine"

On September 10, 2026, the Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), organized a seminar on two emerging topics in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences: nanotechnology and 3D & 4D printing in Pharmacy. The seminar aimed to introduce students to new technologies and their applications in drug delivery, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and precision medicine.

The department was honored to welcome Dr. Mohiuddin Quadir, Associate Professor, Department of Materials Science & Engineering, University of Central Florida, and Dr. Md. Jasim Uddin, Senior Lecturer, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Malaya, and Adjunct Professor, UCSI University, as guest speakers.

Dr. Quadir discussed how nanotechnology can improve drug safety and effectiveness. Dr. Jasim Uddin highlighted the growing use of 3D and 4D printing in pharmacy, drug delivery, and personalized medicine.

The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor, UAP; Prof. Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head, Department of Pharmacy; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean, School of Pharmacy; Prof. Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka and Adjunct Professor, UAP.

The sessions provided students with valuable knowledge about advanced drug delivery, nanotechnology, 3D and 4D printing, and precision medicine. The interactive discussions also encouraged students to explore new ideas and research opportunities in pharmaceutical sciences.

The program was organized by the Seminar Organizing Club, Department of Pharmacy, UAP under the supervision of Ramisa Anjum, Assistant Professor and Fahmida Tasnim Richi, Lecturer. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks to the speakers, faculty members, organizers, and participants. The active participation of the students made the event a successful and enriching academic experience.
