UAP Pharmacy Department Holds Industry Consultation on M. Pharm Marketing Syllabus

The Department of Pharmacy at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized an industry consultation meeting on 25 February, 2026 to review and update the M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Marketing syllabus. The objective of the meeting was to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with current pharmaceutical market requirements and prepares graduates for professional roles in the industry.
The session was chaired by Dr. Zabun Nahar, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy. In her welcome address, she thanked the invited marketing experts from leading pharmaceutical companies for their presence and requested them to carefully review the syllabus. She highlighted the existing M. Pharm programs in Pharmaceutical Technology and Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology and stated that the introduction of the new M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Marketing aims to produce competent graduates who are fully prepared for recruitment in pharmaceutical marketing positions.

Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Professor and Dean, School of Pharmacy, UAP, was also present. He mentioned that this meeting was arranged as a follow-up to a previous discussion and was organized to gather direct feedback from pharmaceutical marketing professionals. He highlighted the importance of aligning academic programs with current industry demands.
During the session, A. H. M. Nazmul Hasan, Assistant Professor, presented the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework of the program. He explained the course structure, learning outcomes. The invited experts provided valuable feedback and shared practical insights on current trends in pharmaceutical marketing, including regulatory updates, product management, digital marketing strategies, and international market exposure.

Khairul Alam, Manager, Marketing Services Department of Nuvista Pharma Ltd.; Asadullah Al Galib, Manager, SMD of Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd.; and Md. Maksudul Huq, Assistant General Manager, International Marketing Department of Opsonin Pharma Ltd. The program concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants.
