
The ICPC-JRC Inter-College Programming Contest 2026 and ICPC-JRC Intra-UAP Programming Contest 2026 were held at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) on Saturday, August 29, 2026, with the aim of promoting competitive programming and developing problem-solving skills among young people.
The competitions were jointly organized by the Programming Contest Club (PCC) and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), UAP. A total of 270 participants from different schools, colleges, and UAP took part in the four-hour contests, which followed the ICPC format and featured automated answer verification and a real-time scoreboard.

In the Inter-College Category, Desh of Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College became champion and received Tk. 21,000. Walizamanee of Cardiff International School, Dhaka, was the first runner-up with Tk. 18,000, while Sugoi Desu Ne of CDA Public School and College became the second runner-up with Tk. 15,000. HD_ARHoushi of Khulna Zilla School secured fourth place with Tk. 12,000, and Al-Kindi Crypt of Government Haji Asmat College secured fifth place with Tk. 9,000. A total of Tk. 75,000 was awarded in this category.
In the Intra-UAP Senior Category, UAP_Coroutine became champion, Compiler_Crew the first runner-up, and De_kichu_ekta the second runner-up. They received Tk. 12,000, Tk. 9,000, and Tk. 6,000, respectively. In the Junior Category, Dekhi!!, RizKo, and Algorithm_Avengers secured the champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up positions, receiving Tk. 12,000, Tk. 9,000, and Tk. 6,000, respectively.

At the prize-giving ceremony, Mr. K. M. Mozibul Haque, Chairman, Board of Trustees, UAP, was the Chief Guest. Ms. Selina Nawroz Choudhury, wife of the late National Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, was the Guest of Honour. Special Guests were Dr. Mohammad Alauddin, Member, Board of Trustees, UAP; Prof. Dr. Abul Lais M. S. Haque, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, North South University; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, Distinguished Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BRAC University; Mr. Munir Hasan, President, Bangladesh Open Source Network; and Prof. Salma Begum, Principal, Government Science College, Dhaka. Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor, UAP, attended as the Program Chair.

Prof. Dr. Nasima Begum, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), UAP; Prof. Dr. Bilkis Jamal Ferdosi; Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha; and Prof. Dr. Shah Murtaza Rashid Al Masud were also present at the programme, along with other faculty members of UAP.
The contests were organized in remembrance of the significant contribution of the late National Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury (JRC) to the development of competitive programming in Bangladesh. His guidance and support were instrumental in organizing the National Collegiate Programming Contest at UAP in 2016 and the ACM-ICPC Dhaka Regionals in 2016 and 2017. He also made significant contributions to the organization of the 45th ICPC World Finals in Bangladesh in 2022.

Following the World Finals, the ICPC Foundation provided UAP with a US$50,000 fund, from which the ICPC-JRC Scholarship Award is being provided to encourage young people in competitive programming and develop their problem-solving skills.

The competition reaffirmed UAP's commitment to promoting competitive programming, developing the skills of young programmers, and carrying forward the legacy of National Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury.
