Sarah Tahsin Noor completed her PhD in Civil Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2011. Her research topic was "Negative Skin Friction induced on Piles in Collapsible Soil due to Inundation". Sarah completed her Masters in Civil Engineering from Concordia University in 2005.

She received the prestigious Alexander Graham Bell NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship (a national competition where graduate students from every Canadian university participate and only the top ranked students are awarded) in her PhD program. She was also awarded with the Doctoral Research Scholarship from Quebec Government (a province wide completion for graduate students), and four scholarships from Concordia University.

Her present research topic includes pile foundation, unsaturated soil mechanics, problematic soils (including sensitive clay and collapsible soil), numerical modeling, etc. Earlier, she completed her bachelor in Civil Engineering from BUET, Dhaka in 2002 securing the 5th position. Sarah is a member of Golden Key International Honor Society.
